I cannot figure out how to do it on the 8138e. Please help.
How to Copy
Make copies with an HP printer
Copy > Resize
Open Section Change paper size and type settings
Steps 1 and 2
-- What else? --
Copy is a feature of the printer hardware -- no software required at the printer control panel.
Copy is limited to whatever options the printer supports.
User Guide - HP OfficeJet Pro 8120e - HP OfficeJet Pro 8130e Series
Load the Paper -- Pages 21-22
Next,
This printer series does not list automatic 2-sided copy as an option.
Keep that in mind when you are preparing your job.
| Copier Settings | Number of Copies; Sided; Lighter/Darker; Resize; Quality; Paper Size; Paper Type; Collate |
-- Note -- Unfortunately, "Sided" does not mean "2-sided"
Presumably, the Printer Control Panel will include a Copy icon and will list the available options.
Should that not be the case,
If your printer is on your network,
Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to view and adjust the printer's features.
For example, configure the available Default Copy Options.
After the Default Copy Options are adjusted, use Copy to create a duplicate of your original at one of the supported output size you want.
-- Important --
Be sure you have made a note of the Printer's PIN.

Next,

Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)
NOTE: Find printer IP address
Section Open the EWS over a local network orientation
OR
HP Laser Printers - Using the Printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)
Open your Browser
Open EWS -- Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
Note → If the browser security will not let you open EWS, try a different browser.

Some applications, for example, scan and print apps and software in Windows, can print your scanned and saved file at the size you want.
The application / software (that is) best suited to the task depends on your goal.
For Example,
------------------------------------------------
Poster printing, for example, can print PDF or Photo / Image content on one or more sheets of paper at the Scale you want it done. PDF_Document_Poster_CAD_5
------------------------------------------------
Some applications, for example, Microsoft Photos, can Resize image file content to be larger or smaller (by percentage) than the original. Be sure to save such changes under a new file name. Photos_Image_Resize_1
------------------------------------------------
HP App (replacement for HP Smart) can print saved Image file content (*.jpg) at preselected sizes.
