HP Spectre & Brother printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am using an HP Spectre PC with a brother printer, both have been working together well until two weeks ago.

The PC shows that the printer is linked however the print message is not transferring to the printer.

If I disconnect the printer, the PC shows items in line waiting to print. When I attach the printer the print queue drops out.

I do not have another printer or PC to test each other against.

Someone suggested it might be a windows update problem, can anyone help?

I'm studying with the Open University and would like the printer up and running soonest.

Hi,

What you describe would likely be hardware failure, I suggest checking with your printer manufacturer how to test its hardware functionality , this is something to check with Brother.

2 weeks ago? I would say it is a Windows update issue (9th of June - patch Tuesday). Looks like Brother printers are the most affected. You need to look up for the Microsoft blog and reinstall patches.

Hope that will help!
