Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, after updating the firmware my hp m28w printer died.

when it is turned on you can only hear the mechanical noise but neither the lights nor the display come on.

I think it's in brick mode.

I read another user's discussion from a few years ago with the same problem and that he solved the problem by reinstalling the firmware through a firmware downgrade via installation with cmd command.

I tried with the current firmware available on the hp site but this failed. It seems rather mean of hp (after having purchased one of their products by paying for it) not to make available to those who have problems the firmware to perform a downgrade and be able to recover the functioning of their device!!

Can anyone provide me with the old firmware so I can recover my printer?

2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.

5. Turn on the printer.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows only):

Hi and thank you very much for your reply, unfortunately these are solutions that I have already tried several times without success, in fact through the diagnostic software it no longer detects its serial number inside the printer.

a more in-depth action is needed through the windows cmd command run as administrator. From there completely reinstall the firmware with the usb tool always through cmd. my problem is that on the hp site only the latest firmware version is available and instead you have to downgrade to at least the penultimate version but it is not available 😭
