HP PRINTER WILL NOT PRINT FROM MAC - ORANGE BLINKING LIGHT BESIDE THE USB CABLE

The printer will print the test page from the printer itself,  It will not print the test page form the Mac.  The front panel says Powersave on.  The on button is a steady green.  At the USB cable point at the back of the printer the green light is steady but there is an orange blinking light also.  I have downloaded and updated the latest printer driver.  I have switched the printer off and on again (both with the  USB cable in and also with it out).  I have restarted and shut down and then switched on the Mac.  I have changed the USB cable.  I have changed the low magenta cartridge.  I suspect the problem is the connection between the mac and the printer but do not know how to resolve it.  The Mac only has one USB cable point which goes to the router.  The router (A Plusnet one) has 3 points.  I have tried plugging the cable straight from the printer to the Mac, and also tried changing which USB point the print plugs into in the router.  Nothing has worked.  Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong?  Thanks

The solution is to download (and install) this package which will update drivers AND THE CERTIFICATE:

Easy Admin did nothing. Easy Startup did nothing. 5.1 drivers did nothing. This worked for me!

The installation of the recommended program didn't solve my problem. My DeskJet 2720 is still not printing.
