Hello,
I'm having a hard time trying to access the administrator menu at the preboot menu. I updated the firrmware to the latest with a USB stick in the main menu, but the in preboot menu I'm still locked out. I cannot find any sticker by the toner mention in some other threads. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This might be a bigger problem, if a user setup an admin password on the preboot menu, the only suggestion I have is to try using the service technician code. If that does not give you access and the person who configured the password is either no longer with the company or has no idea you might have to replace the formatter. You could try formatting the drive but I do not think you can even get to that if the device is locked down. This assumption is that either you are prompted for the password as soon as you go into the menu or are prompted for the password when you try to select administrator. Normally the first menu shows a sign in and other options like administrator but unless prompted, you should be able to go directly into the administrator menu.

Is it asking for this password the minute you try to boot into service mode or are you trying to access one of the menus. I would refer to the service manual here: https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_10555521_en-US-1.pdf for more detailed assistance.
