HP Photosmart 1215 (Not 1215 PSC All-in-One)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Since updating to the latest version of Win 10  my HP Photosmart 1215  is no longer functional. I have removed it and tried a fresh install to no avail. The OS does not recognize it and will not list it. I have tried windows update with no luck. I have also tried HP Scan & Print Doctor and the rest of the HP assist tools and no luck. I also have the original installation CD but it will not accept that either when I try to run it.

Any help that anyone can be will be greatly appreciated.

Thanx,

Mike T.

@mtravinski, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to use the printer from the Win 10 PC.

Click here to download the HP printer driver.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: Connect the USB cable only when prompted.

Check the connectivity between the printer and the PC.

Use a good known/working USB cable. Connect it directly between the devices.

For assistance, you may refer to - HP printer setup (USB cable)

If the issue persists, Install the printer using Windows built-in driver

Refer to this document to know how. Try printing. Use Deskjet 990c driver if your printer is not listed.

Refer to this document HP printer setup (Windows built-in driver) for help.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
