HP Photosmart 6515 e-All-in-One Printer - B211a

The printhead on my HP Photosmart 6515 e-All-in-One Printer - B211a failed so I purchased a replacement printhead from a reputable vendor still selling this model of printhead. After I installed it, I still received the error code 0xc19a0023. The replacement printhead is at least partially functioning as I can still receive information about the printer ink levels which are passed through the printhead PCB. Digging into printer settings a little more, I can see that the printhead is visible to the printer, but doesn't have a model or serial number, which I assume is a case of data rot on the printhead. I am looking for a way to re-flash the firmware on this printer in hopes that it will assign the printhead those numbers. If there is a way to flash the print head independently, that would work as well. Otherwise, is there a way to modify the printer firmware to not require that information from the print head? If need be I can try to disconnect the ribbon cables the tie the printhead and PCB on both the new and old printheads and swap the PCBs, but I would like to try to avoid this if possible.
