HP Photosmart 6520 software

Hello,

Since a while the software HP Photosmart 6520 stop working.

I use the 6520 printer in 2 devices and it worked before but from a moment to another, it stop working on both devices.

Both devices have installed Win10, 1 with the PRO and the other with the HOME version.

I've already removed/installed the software. I also try the following : remove software > reboot > install software > reboot > try open software and nothing happens.

When I double click on the application icon, it opens it and then asks me the connection type, if USB if Network connection, and one or another option I choose, the application does not open.

End of March, when doing several scanning, the printer was doing it well and at the end of the process, to scan a page, it take about 5min per page.

After that the application does not open anymore.

The 3 colours cartridges are empty.

The black cartridge is half.

Could it be linked to this? (I hope not...) 

The wireless connection between the printer and the rooter, has a fixed IP. This setting is like this since long time ago so I doubt that is linked to this.

I'm able to do Scan from the printer to the PC

The webscan (through the IP) seems also to work, but since these 2 last solutions does only one page at a time, I do not like to use it.

Does anyone have an idea of what it could be the issue for why the software HP Photosmart 6520 does not open ?

UPDATE (27.06.2022): Today I put all new cartridges and still same issue.

Dear all,

I think I have found the issue.

For those that can have similar issues, it seems that the application I had installed is based on Flash and this is not available anymore on Win10...

So I download HP Scan and Capture (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/hp-scan-and-capture/9wzdncrfhwl0) , uninstalled HP Photosmart 6520 software and I'm able now to scan .
