I plugged this printer in and began getting an error message to "re-insert or lower the photo tray". After removing and replacing the photo tray multiple times I finally affixed the tray with something under it so it no longer errors out on that message, but I instead get the error message "out of paper". I've done all of the tricks, I've made sure the paper is the correct size, I've cleaned the paper rollers, I've checked to ensure there were no paper jams or items in the way of the paper feeding, and I've ensured that the settings when printing are set to Letter. The only other recommendation I'm seeing is to "maintenance the printer". I have no idea what that means either or where I could take it to have it looked at. Any other recommendations or help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

@KAF5962, Welcome to HP Support Community!

If you have already performed the steps from the document An 'Out of Paper' error displays, printer does not pick paper and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps!
