Here's a link to the manual hack posting to update the 7520 firmware if you are getting a "Not Applicable" message when trying to do the firmware upgrade the usual, HP-approved way:

My concern is that someone tried this hack on another HP printer with the result being successful for the firmware upgrade and for access to Web Services but the Automatic Document Feeder on the printer stopped working after the update. This may have been a one-off situation since others report success wit the 7520 but I did not try this method myself so there may be a real risk with doing this.
