HP Photosmart 7960
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a Probook 445 running Win 11 and  a Probook 6460b running Win 10.  I'm unable to connect an HP Photosmart 7960 to either laptop. Tried the installation CD that came with the printer and tried installing using the Windows built-in drivers. No go for both.  Does anyone know of a solution? Thanks

Connect the USB to one of the computers and install the 'full feature" on both system.

Once you get the printer to work on the computer it is connected to then select the printer and set it as a shared printer.

Go to the other computer and search for the shared printer.

 

The 7960 does not support wifi unless you bought a WiFi to USB print server adapter.

 

if a problem downloading the software then the following two sites have software for older systems that might not be available at HP. The driverscollection site is recommended more than the .eu one. Do not download any "driver downloader" or "updater". Please examine the buttons to ensure they download the actual driver and not a driver helper. Do not click on any advertisements.
