I purchased a HP Photosmart 8750 printer when I was running Windows 98 and never did install it. Since that time we have a computer running Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit) and a Laptop running Windows 10 Home (64-bit). Recently I tried to install the printer on both systems only to find out HP has stopped providing support for it. Can anyone help me find updated drivers/software or am I going to have to pass the printer off at a yard sale?
Thank you for your time.

Hello @GMan46,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! 🙂 I see you are trying to install your HP Photosmart 8750 to your computers running the Windows Vista and 10 Operating system.
Because this is an older model printer, you will need to install the software using the Windows built-in driver. This is not guaranteed but may work for you.

Wow...thanks a lot. The info reminded me "Windows automatically installs USB printers when you plug them in". I knew this from when we replaced the Windows 98 system, we purchased the Photosmart 8750 and the old HP 960c seemed to have started producing better photos. So we continued to use it up until now. When we got the Vista system we learned then about the "Automatic USB Install", used it and then later on the Windows 10 system also. The "Automatic USB install" was far from my memory since we had observed this orange striped warning informing us to install software first and wait for the prompt to connect. Following the instructions in the information you sent us, when we plugged the printer into the Vista system, almost instantly the printer was ready for use. It was the same for the Windows 10 system. We had purchased extra ink cartridges when we purchased the printer and again this month when we decided to install the printer. You made our day a day worth waking up for. We prayed on this and were even prepared to purchase another printer.
Thanx and God bless you and your family.
