HP Photosmart Premier
Microsoft Windows XP

I had the HP Photosmart Premier program in an old PC running Windows X, but I lost it, is it possible to downloaded from somewhere?  Is it possible to use it on a Mac with OS X?

Thanks.

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

It's a pleasure assisting you in finding answers to your technical queries.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Are you looking for the printer driver?

Could you please help me with the exact model name or product number and the operating system of your Mac to assist you better.

Keep me posted,

Have a great day!

Cheers:)

I was able to recoup the Photosmart Premier from the HP laptop by going to the original programs section and rebooting it from there. I don't know why, but for some reason there was a mulfuction and it disappeared from the Photosmart program.  Apparently the Premier section of the  program came with the laptop, hence reloating the CD that came with the printer did not work because it just came with the Express & Essential sections.

I still would like to know if the Premier section of the Photosmart program is available for Apple's Mac with  OS X software, I like it better than what came with the Mac laptop.

Thanks

Could you please help me with the exact model name or product number of your printer?

In the meanwhile, follow the below steps.

Step 1: Remove multiple printers from the printer list

Check for multiple devices in the Printers list, and then remove any extra entries other than one in idle status.

  1. Search the Mac for Print, and then click Print & Fax, Print & Scan, or Printers & Scanners in the list of results.

  2. Find the printer names that match your printer from the list of devices.

Figure : Printers and Scanner window with multiple names of a printer in the list

  3. If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button  at the bottom of the list. Leave one 'idle' printer in the list that matches your printer if available and use this printer as the Default printer.

  4. Try printing again.

    • If the printer prints, you can stop troubleshooting.

    • If the printer remains offline or displays an error, continue to the next step.

Step 2: Delete the existing print queue and add the printer

Remove the printer queue from the list of printers, and then add it again. Doing so creates a new printing session.

  1. Make sure your Mac is connected to the Internet.

  2. In the Printers list, click your HP printer, and then click the Minus button  to delete it.

  3. Click the Add button .

  4. Find and select the name of your printer from the Printer list, and then click Add to add your printer. Do not select an HP Fax driver.

  5. Click Print Using or Use.

  6. Select the name of your printer (if available) or AirPrint.

Your new printer queue displays in the Printers list in an Idle status .

  7. Try printing again.

Keep me posted, how it goes!

It looks like you were interacting with @Raj1788, but he is out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out.

HP Printers uses HP Printer Essential software on Mac OS X, you may download HP Printer Essential software from here.

Man, you guys don't read very well.

He was asking for precisely HP Photosmart Premier.

NOT  Essential Software. NOT drivers.

HP Photosmart Essential/Premier was a digital photo organizing, editing, sharing, printing software solution made some time ago. It has since been discontinued and in its place there is HP Photo Creations. Yes, it is not as good and is largely just a big ad for the next online photo printing company HP decides to partner with (the highest bidder).
