Photosmart C410
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have the same problem as the OP in this thread: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Software-and-Drivers/printer-extreamly-slow-in-printing/m-p/72....

I also notice that I have two HP Photosmart C410 printers installed in my Devices and Printers folder. In my case they are HP Photosmart Prem C410 series and HP5EB71B (HP Photosmart Prem C410 series). AND as with the OP, if I select the HP5EB71B (HP Photosmart Prem C410 series) when I print, my printer has no problem printing with the fast speed that it used to.

So why my post? When I right-click on the HP5EB71B (HP Photosmart Prem C410 series) icon and choose to set it as the default printer, I get a message saying "Setting this printer as default means Windows will stop managing your default printer". That's OK, I guess, though sometimes I want to print several documents as PDF, and would like the Print dialog box to maintain that setting until I'm done printing them.

The solution to the problem says that "Sometimes on multiple installation of the software, the Printer can be listed twice. You can delete the other copy of the Printer." But which is "the other copy?" I'd like to just have my printer called HP Photosmart Prem C410 series rather than HP5EB71B (HP Photosmart Prem C410 series).

I've also noticed that the properties (right-click on printer in Devices and Printers folder and choose Properties) are a bit different for the two printers. The HP5EB71B  version has a Web Services tab that the "regular" printer doesn't.

And if I choose the Hardware tab and click the Properties button, then click the Events tab for both printers, there's different info. On the "regular" version, among other stuff, it says "Device SWD\PRINTENUM\{E4EFA93B-5690-4360-AA67-DDFFCFA7EABE} was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match." And on the HP5EB71B  version it says: "Device SWD\PRINTENUM\WSD-7bbef65b-30c3-4f3f-8e29-992ff799e523.006e requires further installation."

So, I'm concerned that deleting one or the other will leave me with a printer that's not completely/correctly installed.

Hi @jandreasen

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand the printer is printing slow. I'd be happy to assist you.

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Check the connection between the devices.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.

If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

Perform a clean reinstallation of the HP driver which may resolve this issue.

Refer to this document to know how to resolve slow printing issues.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
