I have an older laser printer (LaserJet 1022), had to reinstall the operating system for my new larger hard drive, and now the Windows 11 drivers do not work. Microsoft has too many devices that manufacturers have turned over the making of their drivers for. The rep I dealt with was so smart, he thought updates will solve the problem, and it locked up my computer so bad, I had to reinstall the O.S. over again. 2 weeks ago I did the replacement & install. My printer hasn't worked since. I need the drivers from HP, not Microsoft.

With disappearing tech support, I have no way of finding the drivers HP installed for me 2 years ago when I bought this computer. They didn't save it on my hard drive, or if they did, they no longer work with this version of Windows 11. At some point, it said the printer wasn't connected, which seems to be a persistent problem with Microsoft drivers for HP printers. They need help with your printers, HP!!!

It's obvious to me that turning over driver creation to Microsoft is a very bad idea. They aren't HP and could care less, let alone have reps that know what they're doing with specific products they don't manufacture.

How am I supposed to get this printer working again? Right now, it's my only printer and I can't afford a brand new laser printer. I've got $10. It works fine and Windows 11 can see it by name because it installed the initial drivers for it. This is as bad as my having to buy a new worse color printer because HP stopped making the cartridges for that printer. I miss the old one that worked perfectly fine; better than the one I replaced it with. UGH!

Thank you so much. I did have to completely remove the printer and one other place it showed up. That worked.
