Officejet 7110
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have been trying to diagnose problems on my Officejet 7110 all -in -one.

(not the wide format one but working well for many years.

PPDR 5.6 doesnt find the problem but I was offered an update to 5.6.010

This downloaded ok but I got the error "Extraction failed Could not overwrite output file"

Any ideas?

Not sure which Doctor is the "latest" version.

There are two types of doctor available for download / installation.

Resource – Choose the right doctor for the job

Open Website

HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows

Click the orange Download Now option / box

Wait!

If the problem / issue is one of

  • Printer is Offline
  • Cannot print in Color
  • Duplex printing has disappeared

THEN

Select / Answer question “Is print offline?” = YES

Answering Yes selects the “right doctor” version for these issues.

NOTES – The “Offline” doctor

As a result of repairing issues,

Offline / Color check / Duplex check version of the Doctor may replace the printer or add a “(Copy 1)” version of the driver in Devices and Printers.

If there are two printers in Devices and Printers,

If one of them does not work,

Try sending your job to the “Copy 1” named printer.

If you want / need to rename the “Copy 1” printer:

Open Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers

Right-Click on the printer name > Printer Properties > Tab General >

In the top box, Edit the name of the printer (For example, remove the part that says “Copy 1”)

Click Apply / OK to save change

NOTE:  The name change may take a bit of time (a few minutes), else Restart the computer and log in.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Verify results.  If necessary, set the newly added / renamed printer as the default.

A secondary “Scan” printer may be added, that is, the “Do not Delete” driver / printer.  As it says, do not delete the entry.

Thanks @Dragon-Fur

I did get an earlier version which works.

I now have a Port config error coming up which asked me to re-boot the computer.

I tried that several times and it doesn't fix it but I can skip it and do a test print.

The printer selected is ok and the test print is ok but when I try to update the drivers I am pushed to the Officejet 7110 Wide format printer not my All-in-one.

I'll dig out my old windows 7 laptop with the original drivers and see how that works.

I don't want to retire this printer as it is excellent and I have plenty of genuine HP Cartridges.

You are welcome.

As to the Doctor, use what works.  That said, the Offline version of the doctor is likely the best option.

Windows 7 printer drivers won't work, unfortunately.

There is only the one printer listed when searching for OfficeJet 7110 - and yes, it comes back as the "Wide Format" printer model.

HP OfficeJet 7110 Wide Format ePrinter series - H812

What?

Printer that you have is actually retired?  In this case the data for it will have been removed from the HP site.

Printer is not an OfficeJet 7110?

For example, there is an HP Envy 7100 All in One printer series

Use the Product Number to search for the printer model.

How to find

Finding your Product Name, Product Number, or Serial Number

Reminder:  Never post the serial number or any private information in the Community – we are a public resource.

Search the following:

Is your HP Product “vintage?  (Ten years of age or older)

Typically, HP stops supporting consumer products after ten years.  Read the policy and find out if your HP device is on the list.

(Note:  The “trade-in link in the document is obsolete and is not functional. )
