@RCCO, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your hp envy 7800 that won't install on Windows 11

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like you’re having trouble installing the HP - Printer - 20.79.1.6692 driver for your HP Envy 7800 on Windows 11. Let’s try a few steps to get that sorted out:

Restart Your PC and Printer

  • Sometimes a simple restart helps clear out any minor issues that might be blocking the installation.

Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • You can download it from the HP website here. It’s a handy tool that can automatically diagnose and fix most printer issues.

Update Windows

  • Make sure your Windows 11 is up to date:
    • Go to SettingsWindows UpdateCheck for updates.
    • If there’s an update available, install it and restart your PC.

Manually Install the Driver

  • Download the latest driver from the HP Support page.
  • Right-click the installer and select Run as administrator.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions carefully.

Compatibility Mode (if needed)

  • If the installation still fails, try installing the driver in compatibility mode:
    • Right-click the driver file → PropertiesCompatibility tab.
    • Check Run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows 10 from the dropdown.
    • Click Apply and OK, then try installing again.

If none of these steps work, let me know — we can dig a little deeper together! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
