Quite happy with ye olde printer. It still works a treat!
When l first installed it ages ago, l couldn't scan, even know what the ink levels were, or to set the preferences etc.
Someone from here gave me an exe. file to run which l did. I created a desktop icon to access the settings and all has been
fine ever since.
Now I am now going to upgrade to W10, not decided on Enterprise or Pro just yet. l have backed up everything l can think
of, but l don't want to lose this Printer Assistant application if things go astray, because it sure as isn't on the original
setup disks!
Is it possible to let me know what to run in case l lose the original exe file?
Hope all of this makes sense.
NB: The file posted at that time was called HP Deskjet 2540 Series if that helps in any way

Hi,
You may need to reinstall the software after upgrading to Windows 10.
If you experience issues after the upgrade you would need to uninstall the HP Software as listed below:
https://support.hp.com/th-en/document/c02259020
Next, download and install the latest Windows 10 software below, this is the same software as the original version:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL48442/al-117577-4/DJ2540_188.exe
