Hi @dscr,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the HP Officejet J4680 All-in-One Printer does not have a dedicated driver specifically designed for Windows 11, as it is an older printer model. However, there are ways to get it working on your Windows 11 system:

Option 1: Use the Windows Built-in Driver

Windows 11 includes built-in drivers for many older printers. Here's how to use them:

  1. Connect the Printer: Connect the printer to your computer via USB.
  2. Add the Printer:
    • Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
    • Click Add a printer or scanner and wait for Windows to detect your printer.
    • If Windows finds the printer, follow the on-screen prompts to install the driver.
  3. Test the Printer: Print a test page to ensure it's working.

Option 2: Use the Windows 10 Driver

You can try installing the Windows 10 driver in compatibility mode:

  1. Download the Driver:
    • Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
    • Search for "HP Officejet J4680" and download the latest driver for Windows 10.
  2. Install in Compatibility Mode:
    • Right-click the downloaded file and select Properties.
    • Go to the Compatibility tab, check Run this program in compatibility mode for, and select Windows 10.
    • Click OK and then run the installer.

Option 3: Use HP Print and Scan Doctor HP Print and Scan Doctor

HP provides a diagnostic tool to troubleshoot and resolve printer issues:

  1. Download HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP Support website.
  2. Run the tool and follow the prompts to detect and resolve any driver or connection issues.

Option 4: Use Universal Print Driver (UPD) HP Universal Print Driver for Windows

HP's Universal Print Driver can support many older printers:

  1. Download the HP Universal Print Driver.
  2. During installation, choose the Dynamic mode for automatic printer detection.

Refer to this document: HP Universal Print Driver (UPD) supported printers

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
