I used to be able to manage my HP printers easily from the legacy software. Now they've gone to this HP Smart crap and I can't do anything. I don't like the Scan software on the computer. I prefer to scan from the printer which still works fine.

But if I go into HP Smart and try to reconfigure, for example, change the default destination, it tells me that I can't configure or use Scan to Computer because it has been disabled. No it hasn't. It still works. The printer thinks it works. I can't find anywhere in the software to enable it. I can't enable it from the printer because it isn't disabled.

I've tried downloading and installing the software from HP, but it just loads HP Smart.

Any ideas?

@jenos99, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I see that you are having issues with the HP Smart app while scanning.

To assist you better, what model printer are you using?

Refer to this document to know how to find the Product Name or Product Number.

Are you using a Win PC or a Mac?

Keep me posted for further assistance.
