Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My printer is an HP ENVY 5055 All-In-One Inkjet Printer, Copier & Scanner. It needs a Firmware Update. However, every time I try to download and install the update, I receive a message saying that my printer is "Up-to-Date." Therefore, installation fails every time.

If the firmware won't update, then the firmware might be current.

Check the firmware version

If the printer is on the network,

Use Embedded Web Server (EWS) to find your printer's Firmware version

Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Tools Printer Information Firmware Version

Example - EWS - Extract the firmware version from the full firmware version information

NOTE - The example does not show YOUR printer firmware and is intended as an example only.

Firmware Version

MANHHIPP1N002.2115A.00

The most recent firmware update (at this writing) was released in February 2021

HP ENVY 5000 All-in-One Printer series Firmware Update

Current Version:  2102B

Only if the firmware on the printer is older than the firmware available in Category Software and Drivers > Firmware, consider downloading and installing the update.

First of all, thank you so much for your quick reply and help! I looked in my printer properties at my current firmware and saw this:

[fe80::12e7:c6ff:fed5:a584%11]:3911

I'm still lost.

You are welcome.

I don't have another answer.

Assuming you saw this in EWS when looking at tab Tools > Printer Information

The numbering sequence you posted appears to be an IPv6 address - it is certainly not a Firmware version.

??

If I think of a reason the printer thinks an IPv6 address is related to the Firmware version, I'll post back.
