Hello,

I recently received an HP Deskjet 3755 Printer second hand and when I attempt to connect through HP Smart, it’s unable to find it. I’ve resorted to manually trying to connect the printer through my computer’s personal settings and when I try to connect, it asks for a pin. None of the label stickers on my printer explicitly show a pin and I cannot find what link to reset my pin at. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

@glowinq_eyes, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

When your HP DeskJet 3755 asks for a PIN, it’s usually looking for the WPS PIN that Windows generates during setup—not something printed on the printer itself. That’s why you don’t see it on the labels.

Here’s what you can try:

Check for a sticker: Some models do have a “Wi-Fi Direct” password on a label, usually near the back or bottom of the printer. That’s different from the PIN Windows asks for, but it’s worth a peek.

Skip the WPS PIN request: When Windows asks, look for an option like “Connect using a security key instead”. Then you can enter your Wi-Fi password and let the printer connect.

Reset Wi-Fi on the printer: Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together until the light blinks. This puts your printer in setup mode again.

Re-add through HP Smart: Open the HP Smart app, hit the plus (+) sign, and it should rediscover the printer now that it’s in setup mode.

If nothing works, you can also do a network restore (hold Wireless + Cancel for ~5 seconds), then start fresh.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
