We have multiple M607 printers on the network connected to a Windows Server 2016 and then shared onto the network. Recently we've been having a lot of issues with printers disappearing from search and settings not working. For example. Tray 1 is manual feed and Tray 2 is a special paper with writing on the back. We have additional Trays 3 and 4 installed and they are plain paper and Envelope #10 respectively.

We add these printers to the to the server twice. For example, add the printer once with name A and again with name Ab. Under device settings we leave Printer auto select to Letter, Manual feed to Letter, Tray 1 Letter, Tray 2 Not Available, Tray 3 Letter, and Tray 4 Envelope #10. Tray 2 keeps resetting to letter and not staying as Not Available.

For Ab we set as follows. Printer Auto Select Letter, Manual Feed Letter, Tray 1 Letter, Tray 2 Letter. Then under Installable Options we set Trays 3 and 4 as not installed. These Trays also seem to reset themselves back to Letter.

When adding these printers it takes upwards of 4 minutes and sometimes says it couldn't connect to the printer. Once added there never seem to be connection issues. After installing both and printing to A is prints from 3 as it should. But then printing from Ab it also prints from 3 which makes no sense because if the Device Settings were sticking it shouldn't even know Tray 3 exists.

We have tried every driver from HP and I am at a loss. There is at least a dozen machines affected and is causing a lot of tension with this department. I don't know if there is somewhere else that I need to be setting something but I don't think that will help as these settings seem to not be sticking as is.

So the biggest issues are it takes minutes to add a printer, they randomly disappear from search (but remain connected once added), and settings do not seem to be sticking.
