HP ENVY 5540 All-in-One Printer

I have an HP Envy 6400 Series printer. I upgraded my wi-fi router and took a long time to re-connect my printer to the new network. After a long time trying, the software recognized my printer and I was able to start the set up process. That took a long time--7 minutes or so. But after the printer was successfully reconnected I still got a message from the HP printer software saying that the set up was unsuccessful. Error Code 128. I ignored the message and went to to print my document. HP needs to get its act together. or it has decided to abandon all support for older printers.
