Hello,
For some reason, on two of my computers, whenever I send something to print, it doesn't print. On Microsoft Office, the printer status is always on 'User Intervention', however, when I use the printer via USB mode it is fine and when I print from my phone it is also fine. I have checked the actual connection settings on the printer and everything's fine as well, with excellent strength, etc.
I have reinstalled drivers multiple times and this is happening on two different Windows 10-based PCs but doesn't happen when printing from an Android phone, and works fine when printing via USB.
What can I do? Why is this? I would appreciate the help!

Hello oskc,
MS has been updating all software in the past few days. Probably a Windows 10 update has caused the 5540 printer's software needing an update by HP. Possibly HP has not done that, since you have had no success installing drivers. You need to perform a complete uninstall of the printer's software from both Windows 10 computers prior to downloading/installing software.
However before doing that, try steps in the first link below. Other links are provided from my google search.

Since the Win 10 computers can print with cable, possibly the printer and two Win 10 computers are not wirelessly connecting. let's do a Reboot of the Components, thus:
Turn off router/modem (unplug if needed), the printer and all problem computers. Leave the router/modem off 60 seconds. Then turn on each successively in this order: router/modem, printer and both Win 10 computers. Let each completely turn on (no flashing lights or noises as the printer warms up) prior to the next one. Any results.
We can provide tips on the complete uninstall and sources for the Full Feature Software for Envy 5540.
I am not an HP employee; just searching for helpful answers for queries on the forum. Good luck.
