Hi @AY701,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Laser MFP 135w is not printing or scanning over Wi-Fi and shows an update error related to a USB driver. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Confirm Wi-Fi setup on the printer

Make sure the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.

Check the printer’s network status page to confirm it has a valid IP address.

Reset the printer’s network settings

On the printer, press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons for 5 seconds.

This clears previous network data and prepares the printer for a fresh Wi-Fi connection.

Use HP Smart app for wireless setup

Open the HP Smart app on your PC or mobile device.

Follow the prompts to connect the printer to Wi-Fi and complete the setup.

Uninstall old USB drivers

Go to Device Manager → Universal Serial Bus controllers.

Uninstall the driver showing the update error (HP – USB – 12/10/2018 49.0.4411.18331), then restart your PC.

Install the latest full-feature printer driver

Download the latest HP Laser MFP 135w full driver package from HP’s official site.

During installation, choose Wireless connection instead of USB.

Test printing and scanning over Wi-Fi

Send a test print and scan to confirm the wireless connection works.

Make sure your PC and printer remain on the same network for consistent connectivity.

I hope this helps.
