Hello Guys, using a couple of M478fdw within our site and today we've come in to note that both printers appear to be stuck in a loop of "download update" "updating software" "update failed" before doing the same thing in loops. Upon trying to access the printers webpage, we get the following message;
"Welcome to nginx! If you see this page, the nginx web server is successfully installed and working. Further configuration is required."
We can do no further on the webpage, regardless of the browser we choose as its the same message for all. We have rebooted everything from the Router right thru the network to each of our Z Workstations without success. They are connected via ethernet and WiFi.
The last thing we did was a hard factory reset on each printer by switching it off, holding down the back button, switching it back on and selecting the full and obee resets, again without success. They are currently saying "The printer update could not be downloaded" so its like the firmware (which was the latest on both) has been removed entirely.
A quick online search has revealed several others have encounted the same problem over the past a couple of weeks but Im yet to find a solution, so should I be worried that HP have sent some tainted firmware down the line as we have auto updates on.
Only been working on it since 8am and now 6.50pm and am totally deflated so thought Id use what little energy I have in the tank and reach out to you guys....so please anyone! Thanks.
