Trying to claim HP Rewards but receiving this error message...

hprewards.austin.hp.com refused to connect.

• Search Google for hp rewards austin REPublic null

ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

Please advise regarding appropriate follow up steps to claim rewards.

Unfortunately, HP did not link this notification on the rewards site, instead folks are either getting a different message, or a dead link.

The problem persists.

I got a popup message after installing a new ink cartridge.

The message has a hotlink to "hpRewards"

When I click on the hotlink (in a green box)   I get the message "Cannot connect to HP Rewards... a connection to the HPwebsite could not be established ..."

What is the problem, hp, and how do you suggest that I get it resolved?

As I posted 6 months ago, the rewards program ended in July of 2017.

If you read the link I posted, it suggests that you update your printer's drivers.

but I cannot figure out how to do it.

The suggestion regarding how to handle popup for ho Rewards is to update my printer driver.

But the most recent update available for my printer is dated 2015, and the rewards program was cancelled in 2017.

While this SOUNDS useful, I last updated drivers in late 2017/early 2018 (well after the program ended), yet I got the Rewards popup when I changed cartridges yesterday so I am pretty sure this "fix" is not correct.
