i HAD the HP Smart app and was having problems with my printer.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, but apparently deleted the HP Smart app and now it won't let me reinstall.  It says I already have the app.  I can't find it.

Where is the HP Smart App?

When installed, find the HP Smart (Windows) app in

Settings > Apps > Apps and Features

HP Smart comes from the

Microsoft Store

Open the Windows / Microsoft Store

Click (column on the left side) Library

This should list what the store thinks you have installed and / or what is available.

You can sort the list as you wish to narrow down the results.

DragonFur_0-1639498606567.png

Sort by date or Sort by name are most inclusive - "Sort by not installed" shows available but not installed applications.

What good does this do?

Maybe helpful, maybe useless - Depends on what you see and whether what you see makes sense to your situation.

If you find the app in the "not installed" list,

If you have not done so since you uninstalled the app from your computer,

Close all your apps and windows ...

Restart the computer and log in.

What else?

Try using "Get Updates" (upper right section of the Library page).

Assuming the Store knows you had previously installed the application (or if it thinks the app is still installed),

Then

If the app is in need of an update (mine updated again today), then the new version should load.

Thank you.  I was going crazy trying to get it back.

You are welcome.

The HP Smart (Windows) app has updated more frequently of late - the multitude of changes likely just tangled.

Not always, but sometimes the best solution will be to uninstall the app > restart the computer > "get" a new copy from the Store.

Happy printing.
