So I have been using the HP solution center up to this point in order to scan all my documents, but now that flash player has been discontinued the solution center no longer works. I called HP they told me about the smart app. I got the smart app and tried to connect my printer using the usb option and it just keeps saying that it couldn't detect my printer. Any ideas on what I should do next? I called HP but they just had me on hold for an hour and then when I finally got someone they said they were gonna transfer me and immediately hung up the phone. (needless to say very annoyed now)

@gopid123, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

I understand your concern. This model printer is not compatible with the HP Smart app. However, there is a full-feature driver available on the HP Support site. Click here to check/download the same.

If this does not help, there is no other software that will allow scanning due to the printer's age.
