When is HP going to support ARM processors?  Microsoft Surface Pro will not load HP Smart or any useful HP apps for my MFP M130nw printer/scanner.

Dragon Opinion

My opinion is that there is no such support on the horizon.

The HP Smart application is going through a metamorphosis to become the HP App.

The change, in fact, is currently being launched (region by region) for Android devices.

Other supported platforms will follow.

There is no mention of the HP App / HP Smart supporting ARM64 systems.

It is true that HP printers benefit from having HP apps and drivers available.

If you have a supported mobile device, you can install the available HP apps for that device.

See your App Store.

HP printer setup (HP Smart app)

Read the FAQs

For example:

What is the HP Smart app and its requirements?

And / or

What if my cloud printer is missing, offline, or unavailable in the HP Smart app?

And / or

Why can't I connect my wireless printer or print over the network?

>>> Terms of Use >>>  HP Smart – formally HP Connected – Services Terms of Use

Reminders -- Initial Connection

  • Your Mobile device (tablet, phone) must be on the same network as the printer.
  • On that mobile device, Location Services and Bluetooth should both be switched ON

-- Be Aware –

Any HP application you install should be sourced from “HP” .

What?  Fakes have been discovered on at least one Mobile App Store –

Check who is providing the application >> “HP Inc.”

If you can’t tell, ask or use the Homepage method (if using Windows) to download and install the HP Smart application.
