Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I installed HP Scan Extended to use with my HP Powersmart C3180 All-In-One.   It appears to connect with the printer.  At the top of the screen it states HP Scan, then HP Photosmart C3100.  I adjusted the settings for my preferences:  Save as PDF, item - photo, auto-detect size, destination local folder.  Then I chose More, inserted sample file name, chose folder, clicked OK, back to previous screen, clicked SCAN.   The printer responded as if it were creating a scan.  I saw a visual indicating that scan was proceeding, but at the end -- nothing.  Cannot find a file.  Varied my selected options in many ways.  Each time the printer goes through the motions and I am told scan is proceeding but seems to not result in creating a file.  Any ideas what I may be doing wrong?

@bonnievagrant, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

 

HP Scan Extended is no longer supported and it is not updated anymore. The printer you are using has no driver available on the HP Support site due to its age.

 

Use a compatible scanning app to scan.

HP Scan and Capture app: Use this free app available from the Microsoft Store to scan photos or documents.

Go to Installing and Using HP Scan and Capture (Windows 10) for more information.

Windows Scan app: Use this Windows app to scan from most HP all-in-one printers.

Search Windows for Scan, and then click the Scan app in the list of results.

Windows Fax and Scan: Use this pre-installed tool to scan photos and documents.

Search Windows for fax, click Windows Fax and Scan in the list of results, and then click New Scan.

 

If this does not help, as the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.
