HP Smart App - Adding a Printer without locaton

I have a work computer that block the location for the HP Smart App. I don't have the ability to turn it on so I can't login. is there a way to login without using a locaion?

I believe not, though it might depend on other factors.

For example, you must be able to sign into the application using your HP Account credentials.

I do not know whether the HP Account is location sensitive in and of itself.

At least the initial printer setup requires that Network Discovery and File Sharing  be switched ON -- whether this violates your "work computer" setup is not something I can answer.

Unfortunately, while HP Smart is considered a legacy application at this point, it's replacement the HP App, also includes the same types of requirements.

You might consider installing the full driver printer software -- there are no immediate requirements for HP Account sign-in.  Whether the software will run without Network Discovery and File Sharing is not something I can confirm.

• On the mobile device, Location Services and Bluetooth should both be switched ON
• In Windows, switch ON Network Discovery and File Sharing in your private profile
• If using, switch OFF your VPN

Any HP application you install should be sourced from “HP”.

What?  Fakes have been discovered on at least one App Store –

Check who is providing the application >> “HP Inc.”

If you can’t tell, ask or use the Homepage method (if using Windows) to download and install the HP Smart application.
