Does anyone know if or when HP will support businesses or anyone that uses more than 1 printer on their network? For years I have been waiting for the HP Smart app to support 'naming' printers, however, that feature still has not come and support confirms that feature does not exist. We have 4x HP Color LaserJet Pro printers on our local network, no one can figure out which printer they are supposed to print to.
Even after adding all 4 printers, the only way to determine which printer you are using is to go into settings and check the serial number. How is everyone expected to remember the serial number of their printer?
It will be more cost effective in saving time on both IT staff and employees by throwing out all of our HP Printers and getting a brand that support businesses..

Personally I do not think that using HP Smart in a business environment is the most effective means of using printers. Yes there are some ease of use features that might be tempting but in general I would be more likely to just use HP Smart Universal printer driver where you can "name" a printer or attach a location. For scanning, setting up scan to folder directly on the machine eliminates using desktop apps that are often finicky for connections.

I have very similar issue, but home office environment. Two identical printers in separate "offices" both easily distinguished on the network, but both come up in HP Smart as identical pictures and names. Irritatingly, they don't always come up in the same order, so can't distinguish in any way. Only solution so far is to ignore instructions to align the print heads on one printer, which means that instruction appears under the picture for one of the two printers every time. Can anyone suggest a more elegant solution, please?
