The scan section of the HP Smart App is missing paper sizes.  IF you are using an HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 the following paper sizes are missing from the scan section...

11 X 17 (Tabloid / Ledger)

A3

How does one contact the HP Smart App application developers so they can work on fixing the issue and adding the missing paper sizes.

HP literally wants users of their printers to use the HP SmartApp.  They even go as far as preventing the user from installing some of the driver/software available to use with the printer.   It's completely ridiculous that HP won't fix a software  app to include the missing paper sizes.  HP if your reading this, FIX YOUR HP SMART APP!!!  YOUR SOFTWARE APP IS MISSING PAPER SIZES.

Dragon-Fur, what you don't realize is if you attempt to install the full driver/software a message pops up saying, "We have better software for you."  At that moment in time it will not let you continue with the install of the full driver/software.  It is at that point the Smart App is the only option they give.  HP altered the driver's wanting its users to use the HP Smart App.  The HP Smart App is missing paper sizes.  I can not recommend HP printers until this issue doesn't gets resolved.

Welcome to the HP English Community --

True - Not all paper sizes are included in HP Smart > Scan

I believe there was never an intent to provide a full list of individual paper sizes for individual printer models.

Depending on the Operating System / version, HP Smart presents the options for the Scan Area with a limited number of what are considered standard size options that might work with most printers.

True - the application is not fully configurable nor does it support customization of the Presets.

Other software, perhaps the full driver printer software as offered for the supported Operating System / version, might include customization.  The customization might include Custom Paper Size form settings and Custom Shortcuts / Presets

For example, see HP Scan - part of the full driver printer software in Windows.

General Example - Original Format HP Scan - Save as JPEG - Main Menu > Page Size = Detect Photos

Note >> Page Size for Documents can be set to "Detect Content"

Regarding the lack of customization in the HP Smart application

Ideas

Should the ADF / flatbed / glass not support the size you seek, Select "Entire Scan Area".

After the page is scanned, correct / set the edges of the desired boundary.

What else?

Scan the content, set the boundary, select Edit > Crop > Select the size as available or select to Crop to Custom.

General Example - HP Smart - Windows - Scan > Presets = Document

General Example - HP Smart - Windows - Scan > Presets = Photo

Edit > Crop
