Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The HP Smart app asks to be updated every time I use it.  Not so smart, really.

I updated yesterday an now it wants to update again! So - I can't actually use the app (it insists on the update first).

1. How can I turn off updates? As my printer is old and there is nothing new needed. EVER.

2. Why is it stuck in this endless cycle?

Hi,

Please right-click the Start menu and select System.

Scroll down to the Windows Specifications section and clarify your current Windows version, it is possible that your OS is outdated than required by the app, which may cause such behavior:

THat's highly unlikely as my laptop receives all the updates, my employer insists on it.

But even it is didn't, this seems like a bug.

OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Pro

Version 10.0.18363 Build 18363

Build  10.0.18363 was release in Nov 2019, almost two years ago, installing the latest updates should likely help resolving the problem, there been quite few major updates since:

"Should", or "definitely will"?

Why not fix _your_ bug where the app won't do anything sensible at all because it insists on updating before managing the printer.
