The HP Smart App stopped working. I have tried everything suggested by support. I have called HP Support and they were no help at all. The HP Smart app will not even open. I have deleted and reinstalled it several times and it makes no difference. I can see that many people are having this issue. I have to email myself anything i need to print and then print it from my phone. This is so frustrating. Why is HP not resolving this issue????

Hi @Louise9992,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with the HP Smart app. If you've tried the usual steps like reinstalling the app without success, here are a few more troubleshooting tips that might help.
Check for Updates: Ensure your operating system and the HP Smart app are both up to date. Sometimes compatibility issues can cause the app to stop working.
Clear App Cache and Data:
- On Windows: Go to Settings > Apps > HP Smart > Advanced Options > Reset.
- On macOS: Go to Applications > HP Smart, then drag it to the Trash. After that, check for any remaining cache files in ~/Library/Application Support/ and delete them.
Network Issues: Ensure that your device is on the same network as your printer. Sometimes network issues can prevent the app from connecting to the printer.
Firewall/Security Software: Sometimes, firewall or security software can block the app from functioning properly. Try temporarily disabling these and see if the app opens.
Use a Different Device: Try using the HP Smart app on a different device to see if the issue is specific to your current device.
Alternative Printing Methods: If you need a temporary solution, you might want to use direct printing options such as printing via email (if your printer supports it) or using built-in print functions from your OS.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
