HP Smart Tank 515
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

I just purchased HP Smart Tank 515 printer and set it up Wi-Fi, installed HP Smart App on iPhone IOS with no issue.

I also setup macos Airprint and printed a test page then install "HP Smart Desktop" App via Mac App Store but it does not work on my Mac Mini M1 (macOS Big Sur 11.4) computer.

it's starting with progress cycle then shuts down without start up.

I try to run it's applicatin folder with macos exec file it gives crash logs, is threre any solution or will be any update for Big Sur?

Additionaly, I'm wondering that does HP know about this issue?

There will be updates for the HP Smart app regularly. You may check this once a week on the App Store. Until then, you can continue to use Airprint to print.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.

As I could not use HP Smart app on macOS Big Sur,

then Dear HP!

Would you show the way how can I print two sided on this printer, there isn't any settings on macos printer settings for HP Smart Tank 515, "two sided printing" option is always passive?

@leventh, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

According to the printer specification, this printer does not support automatic duplex printing. Hence, the option is not available.

You may print on both sides manually.

For more info, refer to - Print on both sides of the paper with an HP printer

Regarding the HP Smart app,

Check for any software updates on Mac

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

Install the Hp Smart app from the App Store.

If it does not work, install the printer using the AirPrint driver. (recommended) For steps, click here - HP printer setup (Apple AirPrint for Mac)

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Dear Kumar0307,

Thanks for your reply and as you mentioned I saw that this printer not support duplex printing so I will use manual duplex then.

For HP Smart app, I already using Airprint and both macOS and HP Smart app. up to date and no way left to try, one of them of the sw. incompatible with each other but which one; macOS 11.4 or HP Smart Desktop app, who knows?

There's no way out, I think we'll wait and see which one will release a fix to be first  :-ı
