After scanning using HP Smart, when I click the Edit link, an Edit screen comes up but it is completely blank.

It might be broken.

I say that with a due respect that I may not know what is going on.

There have been a couple of recent updates to HP Smart.

These updates have worked fine for some of us while for others the changes have resulted in weird issues, including anomalies when using Edit.  What you describe is not as common as some of the reported HP Smart Edit problems, but it is similar.

The following might be helpful - or might be a complete waste of your time....

If you have not done so,

Log out of HP Smart application

Open HP Smart Windows application

App Settings wheel

Select Sign Out

Next...

Remove / Uninstall HP Smart application from Apps and Features

Make sure all your Windows Updates have run - "Check for Updates"

Restart the computer and log in

Your mystery printer, if you had installed it, would still have access to the Full Feature Software.

This is not precisely relevant, except to note that HP Smart application and the Full Feature Software are not the same thing.

Side Bar

Latest HP Smart requires your printer to be added to your HP Smart / HP Connected account

AND

that also log into the HP Smart application using your HP Connected credentials

HP Smart / HP Connected Login

Click Flag to switch to your region

Open the Windows Store

If necessary, that is, if you are running in a local account, log into the Store with your Microsoft user and password.

Check - there might be an "update" waiting in "Downloads and Updates" or you can grab a new copy of the application from the Store (use search if you cannot find the app).

Windows Store - Application Updates

Windows (Start) > Windows Store

In the upper right corner, click on the three horizontal dots (Settings)

Select Downloads and Updates

Applications available for update are listed on top, above the main app list.

After the HP Smart app is installed,

Open the app and Sign in - Use Your HP Smart / HP Connected credentials

Add your printer (if the app doesn't find the printer on its own)
