Trying to save a scanned document using HP App, the dialog box is off the screen. If I resize the screen or use in full screen mode, the dialog box moves so its always off the screen regardless of the window size. This happens on all computers using the app.

Good news, then.

Good to know you are back on board.

-- For those reading --

The HP App is the replacement for the HP Smart app.

HP App - Windows - is ready for download and installation from the Microsoft Store.

At some point, depending on your region, HP Smart will no longer be available.

The Store offers many look-a-likes that might claim to be the same app.

When checking, be careful of app name spelling and check the source (HP, Inc).

-- Can't stand it? --

Install the HP App and add your printer to to application.

Restart the computer.

Try using HP Smart --

Installing and configuring the HP app might help sort the odd issues with the HP Smart app.

NOTE >> This is a workaround, not guaranteed to work, and is offered FYI.

Interesting -- this is the second one of these I've seen today.

My own Windows version of the HP Smart application is still working --

My workstation Computer Screen display, although capable of much higher resolution, is set to 1920 x 1080.  No, I do not know whether that observation impacts what you are seeing.

I do think it might be time to perhaps consider a move to the HP Smart application's replacement:  HP App

-- Good Grief -- Why should I do that?? --

Not because I think HP Smart is suddenly buggy -- "it works for me" -- but because the HP Smart application is (to my knowledge) no longer available from the  Microsoft Store  .

That just means that amongst whatever else you try, uninstalling HP Smart is likely a dead-end if it cannot be reinstalled.  No, if the application is not available in the Microsoft Store , there are no "secret stash" updates unless you go off-book (download from an unknown / untrusted Not-HP source).

-- What to do? --

If you don't find a solution elsewhere, consider upgrading to the replacement application:  HP

In other words, the HP App is the replacement for HP Smart.  Recently we have seen reports that people can no longer find HP Smart in the  Microsoft Store .  This would mean that HP Smart has passed the point of "being replaced" and has moved to "has been replaced".

I've added (later in this message) links to videos meant to introduce the HP App, explain a bit about how to navigate its use, and how to fix the ever-unpopular "can print but cannot scan" error.

-- Note --

Unless the videos are / have been replaced, they are not specifically directed to using the HP App in Windows.  I've added an example of using the app Reset available in Windows.

HP Smart, if it is still installed, might benefit from the Reset procedure.

I have HP Smart.....I've tried everything except re-installing.  I don't want to do a re-install. Why did this even happen? Obviously HP doesn't know either. Ball is in their court to get a fix in place. They had to have of done an update that affected the save dialog box.  Very irritating.

had this issue. reset and uninstall/reinstall HP Smart app - didn't solve. then installed HP App app from MS Store. didn't able see any option to scan directly from HP App - but that fixed issue with HP Smart app though. now I get full window in HP smart while scanning+saving (HP App pulled/installed latest components that shared with HP Smart app I assume).
