I have had to uninstall HP smart as it stopped working with the printer. I have tried to reinstall it, from the Microsoft Store download but it won't launch. It will be a me thing for sure but I desperately need to get the printer working again so any help is gratefully received.

All I get is this screen and it freezes.

@Moggy703, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Smart Install Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you are facing issues with HP Smart Install and it is not launching from the Microsoft Store download, here are several troubleshooting steps you can try to get it working with your printer:

Check for Software Compatibility:

  • Ensure that your printer model supports HP Smart Install. Check the printer's manual or HP website for compatibility information.

Verify System Requirements:

  • Make sure your device meets the system requirements for HP Smart. Sometimes, older operating systems might not support the latest version of the application.

Uninstall and Reinstall:

  • Ensure that you completely uninstall the existing HP Smart application. Restart your computer, and then reinstall the software from the Microsoft Store.

Update Windows:

  • Run Windows Update to ensure your system is up to date. Sometimes, outdated system files can cause applications to fail.

Check for Printer Drivers:

  • Use the HP Support Assistant to check for printer driver updates. This can be done by launching the HP Support Assistant, which can help identify and install necessary driver updates.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
