Can anyone help to show me where to change the default settings so that I can see the colour option. At the moment I can only print in Black and white.
I do not get the "details" button on the print menu so that I can change the settings.

Hi @TripleJ3 ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
To change the default settings on an HP Smart Tank 530 to enable color printing, you can follow these general steps. Keep in mind that the exact steps might vary slightly based on your operating system and the specific software version. It's recommended to refer to the user manual for your printer for precise instructions.
-
Open HP Smart App or Printer Software:
- Launch the HP Smart app on your computer or open the HP printer software that is installed on your system.
-
Select Your Printer:
- Make sure your HP Smart Tank 530 is selected as the default or active printer.
-
Access Printer Preferences or Settings:
- Look for a menu or option that allows you to access printer preferences or settings. This is usually found in the settings or setup section of the application.
-
Adjust Color Printing Settings:
- Within the printer preferences or settings, you should find an option related to color printing. Look for a setting like "Print in Grayscale" or "Black and White Printing." If it's currently set to grayscale or black and white, change it to color.
-
Save Changes:
- After making the necessary adjustments, save the changes or apply the new settings.
-
Print a Test Page:
- To verify that the changes have taken effect, print a test page. Ensure that the test page includes color elements. This will confirm that the printer is now set to print in color.
Please note that the steps may differ depending on whether you are using the HP Smart App, HP printer software, or the default printing dialog of your operating system.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
