Hi @BobWeir,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When you're trying to set up the HP Smart Tank 6000 on macOS 10.13 and can't find the driver, it could be due to several reasons such as the driver not being automatically installed, the printer not being fully compatible with the OS version, or issues with the way the printer is being detected by your Mac. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve this issue:

Check Compatibility: First, ensure that the HP Smart Tank 6000 is compatible with macOS 10.13. HP's official website or documentation should provide information on OS compatibility.

HP Easy Start: HP provides a utility called HP Easy Start that is designed to help you find and install the latest drivers and software for your HP printer. Visit the HP website, search for your printer model, and download HP Easy Start for macOS. This utility should automatically find the best available driver for your OS.

Update macOS: If possible, consider updating your macOS to a newer version. Newer versions of macOS might have better support for newer printers and may resolve driver-related issues.

Manual Driver Download: If HP Easy Start does not resolve the issue, you can try manually downloading the driver from the HP website. Go to the HP Support page, search for your printer model, and then look for the drivers section. Check if there is a driver available specifically for macOS 10.13.

Use Apple Software Update: macOS can automatically download software and drivers for HP printers. To use this feature, go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners. Add your printer by clicking the "+" button. If your Mac detects the printer, it might prompt you to download and install the driver automatically via Apple Software Update.

Reset Printing System: If you're still facing issues, you can reset the printing system on your Mac. Right-click in the Printers list within Printers & Scanners in System Preferences, and choose 'Reset printing system…'. Note that this will remove all printers and scanners from your system, and you'll have to add them again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
