Newly purchased HP Smart Tank 670:
After installing HP Smart, I can't find the colour option in "Print" on my MacBook Pro (MacOS 14.5). It does not appear under "Presets," but the "Black and White" option can be seen. Please help.

Here are a few steps you can follow to resolve the issue of the missing color print option for your HP Smart Tank 670 on your MacBook Pro running macOS 14.5:

1. Check Printer Preferences

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your HP Smart Tank 670 from the list of printers.
  • Click on Options & Supplies.
  • Check if there are any settings related to color printing that need to be enabled.

2. Reset the Printing System

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click (or Ctrl-click) in the list of printers on the left side.
  • Select Reset printing system....
  • This will remove all printers and scanners. You will need to add your HP Smart Tank 670 again.

3. Add the Printer Again

  • After resetting the printing system, click the + button to add a new printer.
  • Select your HP Smart Tank 670 from the list.
  • Ensure you select the correct driver or let macOS automatically download the appropriate one.

4. Update or Reinstall HP Smart App

  • Ensure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed.
  • Go to the HP Smart app website to download the latest version if necessary.
  • Sometimes reinstalling the app can help resolve issues.

5. Check Print Settings in the Application

  • When you print a document, go to File > Print.
  • Look for a dropdown menu or a section labeled Copies & Pages or Printer Features.
  • Here, you should find an option to select Color or Black & White.
  • If you can't see this option, click on Show Details to expand the print dialog box.

6. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page.
  • Enter your printer model and check if there is a firmware update available.
  • Follow the instructions to update your printer's firmware.

7. Check the HP Smart App Settings

  • Open the HP Smart app.
  • Go to Printer Settings.
  • Look for any color management settings and ensure they are enabled.
