When I first purchased this printer, I was able to do double sided scanning through the Smart App. Why can't I do it anymore? I tried to get support from HRP but they told me I need to re-scan the pages on the same side and it will automatically put the correct pages in (this does not work). Then I have to manually move the pages where they belong. This is so inefficient. Does anyone know any other workarounds?

Hi @qbelle220,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the HP Smart Tank 7310 actually doesn't support automatic duplex scanning HP Smart Tank series This means the HP Smart app can't scan both sides of a document at once.
Here's what HP suggests for scanning two-sided documents:
- Use the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) and HP Smart app to scan each side separately and then combine them into a single PDF.
Here's the process:
- Load the two-sided document into the ADF.
- Open the HP Smart app and select "Scan".
- Choose "Document Feeder" as the source.
- Scan the first sides of the pages.
- After the first scan is complete, take the pages out of the output tray.
- Without changing the order or flipping the pages, put them back into the ADF with the same side facing forward (you might need to rotate them depending on the document).
- Click "+ Add" in the app to scan the other sides.
- In the preview window, you can arrange the pages in the correct order before saving them.
- Choose "Basic PDF" as the file type to save everything as a single document.
It's not ideal, but it allows you to scan both sides and create a two-sided PDF.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
