HP Smart Tank 7305 All-in-One

Hi,

I want to use this printer in a corporate setup where we use PrinterLogic for our users to access all printers.

Only the printer function is needed, scanning can be done via the Webscan option.

I tried several universal printer drivers (HP Smart, PCL5 & 6) but this does not seem to work.

When you send a test print the printer will either make noises like it's starting to print but nothing comes out, or the prints don't make sense with strange characters.

So I am looking for a dedicated .inf driver file for a Smart Tank 7305 so I can feed it to Printerlogic.

On the website only the Microsoft Store app (which we don't have access to) or HP Easy start are available, and not a dedicated driver.

Thanks!

@JohnMensink,

Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Verify Compatibility with PrinterLogic

Ensure that PrinterLogic supports your specific model, HP Smart Tank 7305. If it does, make sure that the driver is compatible with PrinterLogic, and verify that it has been properly configured within the system.

Check the Printer’s Network Connectivity

  • Ensure the printer is properly connected to the network, whether via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. If it's connected to the network, check if the printer's IP address is accessible (e.g., via a web browser).
  • You could ping the printer to make sure there are no connectivity issues.

Download the Latest Drivers from HP

  • Visit the HP support page for your printer model: HP Smart Tank 7305 Drivers & Downloads.
  • Use the “Software and Drivers” section and filter by operating system.

Use a Different Universal Printer Driver

  • If you're not able to get the exact driver, sometimes using the HP Universal Print Driver (UPD) can work for a range of HP printers, including Smart Tank models. This might be a more reliable option than PCL5 or PCL6.
  • Download the latest version of the HP Universal Print Driver from the HP website.
  • Upload this driver to PrinterLogic instead and configure the printer as usual.

Testing with Different Connection Protocols

  • If you are printing via a network connection (TCP/IP), try using different connection types such as LPD, IPP, or JetDirect to see if any of these work better with PrinterLogic.
  • Test if the printer works directly by adding it to a computer as a local printer using the native driver, bypassing PrinterLogic temporarily.

Verify Printer Settings

  • Check the printer’s firmware version. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve driver-related issues.
  • Make sure the printer is set to the correct mode for printing over the network and that it's accepting print jobs from your network.

Look for Error Logs or Printer Diagnostics

  • Check the PrinterLogic logs to see if there are any error messages or clues about why the test prints are failing.
  • You can also access the web interface of the printer (if it’s network-connected) and check for any error messages there.

I hope these steps help resolve the issue
