Please can someone help? I am trying to print a colour document from Adobe Acrobat but it constantly prints in black and white. I desperately need this to work. I have tried Adobe Support Desk but they tried everything and couldn't get it to work either?

Hi @Amaxwell,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

1. Check Printer Settings

  • Ensure Color Printing is Enabled:
    • Open the Printers & Scanners settings on your computer.
    • Select your HP Smart Tank printer and choose Manage.
    • Navigate to Printing Preferences and ensure that the option for color printing is selected.

2. Adjust Adobe Acrobat Print Settings

  • Set Print to Color in Acrobat:
    • Open your document in Adobe Acrobat.
    • Go to File > Print.
    • In the Print dialog box, select your HP printer.
    • Click on the Properties or Preferences button next to the printer name.
    • Find the Color Options tab and ensure that print settings are set to Color instead of Black and White or Grayscale.

3. Update Printer Driver

  • Check for the latest printer driver:
    • Visit the HP Support website.
    • Search for your HP Smart Tank printer model and download the latest drivers if available.
    • Install and restart your computer and printer.

4. Perform Printer Maintenance

  • Run Printhead Cleaning:
    • Open the HP Smart app or go through the printer control panel.
    • Select the maintenance option and run a printhead cleaning utility to ensure no clogs are affecting color prints.

5. Verify Adobe Acrobat Updates

  • Ensure Adobe Acrobat is up-to-date:
    • Go to Help > Check for Updates in Adobe Acrobat.
    • Follow the prompts to install any available updates.

6. Test Print from Another Application

  • Try a color print from a different application:
    • Open another application such as Microsoft Word or a web browser.
    • Attempt to print a color page to verify if the issue persists across different applications.

I hope this helps.
