Product: HP Laserjet MFP M28-M31
Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

I am trying to connect this printer that I have owned for over a year to a MacBook that I am using temporarily.  My other MacBook is in use elsewhere.  I have tried using the HP Smart app but it cannot detect the printer.  But, the MacBook itself does (see screenshots).  I have reset the printing system, unplugged/replugged the cable, restarted both the Mac and the printer, and even switched cables.  Does anyone have any advice?  Also, the MacBook is running Big Sur, not Catalina.  Big Sur was not an option in the OS dropdown menu.  Is there a way to manually factory reset the printer without having it attached to a computer?Screen Shot 2021-01-14 at 1.03.30 PM.pngScreen Shot 2021-01-14 at 1.03.57 PM.pngScreen Shot 2021-01-14 at 1.06.17 PM.png

Hi,

Please follow below version of HP Easy Start, as soon as it launches open the top HP Easy Start menu and select Uninstall HP Software.

Follow the steps on screen and then click on Set Up New Device and follow the steps to reinstall the printer:

Thank you but still having the same problem.  Is there a way to manually reset the printer to factory settings without having it tied to a PC?
