Scan button in the HP app gives message Scanning not available (translated from dutch: Scannen momenteel niet beschikbaar).
Printing with HP app is OK.
Also HP Print doctor gives no eror messages and a test-scan is OK.
How can I scan with the HP app?

Have you tried reinstalling the HP app?
Start -> Settings -> Apps -> Select HP app-> Advanced Options -> Reset
Now, try scanning.
If the issue persists and if you are able to scan well from the HP Scan extended app, I suggest you use the same.

@HermW, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.
Restart the wireless router, the printer and the computer.
Try scanning from the HP Smart app.
If the issue persists, use the HP Scan Extended app to scan and check if that helps.
Click here to download the app.
Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hello KUMAR0307,
Thanks for your answer.
HP Scan Extended shows 2 printers. "HP Photosmart 7520 series (NET)" and "HP3B29CC (HP Photosmart 6520 series)".
Scan with "HP Photosmart 7520 series (NET)" is OK. scan with "HP3B29CC (HP Photosmart 6520 series)" gives the same error.
HP app shows printer name "HP3B29CC (HP Photosmart 6520 series)".
After removing the "HP3B29CC (HP Photosmart 6520 series)" printer from Windows same error from "HP app".
HP app "Printer settings" shows name "HP3B29CC (HP Photosmart 6520 series)".
HP app printing shows "Printer is detected but not installed completely". After installing, printing with HP app is OK. Scanning with HP app gives the same error as before.
Also printer "HP3B29CC (HP Photosmart 6520 series)" is showed again in Windows "Printers and scanners".
Have you any idea why HP app uses another printername, so, in Windows, I have 2 names for the same printer?
Furthermore, my problem is solved by using "HP Scan Extended".
