Hi @Ray_3,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Checking Network Connection:

  • Ensure your printer is connected to your network router with an active internet connection.
  • Confirm that the network router is functioning correctly and that other devices can connect to the internet.

Restart Printer and Network Devices:

  • Restart your printer, the network router, and the device you are using with the printer (e.g., smartphone, tablet, computer).
  • Ensure the devices are turned back on and try reconnecting.

Update Printer Firmware:

Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.

Manual Configuration (CenturyLink Router Users):

Using HP Easy Start:

  • If HP Smart app fails to connect, try using HP Easy Start software for setting up the printer.
  • Follow the prompts in HP Easy Start, and if an error screen appears, select Exit Setup and cancel the installation. Manually configure the printer using the control panel solution provided in the links above.

Restart Web Services:

  • Use either the HP Smart app or the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) to open the advanced settings:
    • HP Smart app: Click the image of your printer to open settings, then select Advanced Settings.
    • EWS: Open using the printer’s IP address.
  • From the Web Services tab, click Continue or Enable to turn on Web Services. Follow the onscreen instructions for setup.

Resolve Server Errors:

  • If a Web Services error occurs during setup, verify the printer's network connection is active and try reconnecting later.
  • Ensure there are no firmware updates required that might be blocking connection setups.

I hope this helps.
